Caramel and Nutella Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

Nutella & Salted Caramel Stuffed Cookies

How to win friends and influence people.

I spent an awesome weekend up in Brisbane for the first time in years, catching up with family and friends, and attending the Blogcademy! I met some truly awesome Brissy blog babes and now I’m brimming with ideas and inspiration for new features and ways to make this blog better. Needless to say I’m totally excited and have a to do list a mile long!

I also caught up with a friend of mine, to whom I had promised a homemade baked gift. He hadn’t tried my cooking before, and after ten years of friendship I felt the need to assert my baking prowess, in case he thought I was making all of it up. I get a little irrationally defensive about this stuff, perhaps because I have few other domestic skills!

I wanted a delicious and somewhat over the top decadent recipe that would be easy to pack in my suitcase. And then I saw these insanely good looking cookies from Top with Cinnamon. I can’t believe that Izy is only 17 years old and so freaking talented!

In the same way that Dorie Greenspan’s World Peace Cookies could be potentially linked to
“planetary peace and happiness”, I think these may actually be even better. There’s caramel involved, for one thing. And a dollop of Nutella in each too. What you have is a triple-whammy of amazing in each bite. I appreciated that they were super simple to make and I didn’t have to drag out the stand mixer for a change!

Needless to say, my friend and everyone else who tried them were pretty damn impressed. Since I pretty much made the recipe as it was, I’m just going to direct you straight to Izy’s post. There’s also a very cool video showing exactly how they’re done. Enjoy!!
